The Band

Christian Runge

Multi-instrumentalist Christian Runge has been playing music for 17 years. During this time he has played rock, blues, funk, jazz, classical, folk, celtic, and on and on. As a teenager, he played guitar in the award winning Fallston High School Jazz Ensemble, and the Baltimore Based Funk/Rock/Jam Group "Shattered Sun."

Upon moving to Oregon, he picked up the Mandolin and began to study Irish, old time, bluegrass, and Dawg music. There he founded his own groove jazz collective, Zen Ropeswing. He also wrote and performed rootsy soul with singer Chanci Herer, and played bluegrass to packed houses with The Jackson County Mountain Boys, and played with notable locals such as Om Trio, Jesse Malloy (Giant People), Steve Spring (Porter House), Cedar Miller (Lost at Last), and Chicken Hersh (Pharoah Sanders).

Now firmly settled in the San Francisco, Christian is working with Hip Hop/Electronica Band "Beatropolis", and leading the global groove unit "Syncrosystem."
